When the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science established her church organization, she required every branch church to maintain a free Christian Science Reading Room. Many a one, sick and weary in mind and body, has drifted into one of these havens and there found inspiration and mental anchorage. In response to the question, “How can I progress most rapidly in the understanding of Christian Science?” The Christian Science textbook says, “Study thoroughly the letter and imbibe the spirit. Adhere to the divine Principle of Christian Science and follow the behests of God, abiding steadfastly in wisdom, Truth, and Love.” We have our own reading room in Los Angeles, CA, and we would love you to join us.

To learn more about Christian Science visit our Reading Room where you will find thousands of articles on healing, wonderful books, pamphlets and recordings as well as all of the writings of Mary Baker Eddy at your fingertips. Online sites and applications are available for you to explore on computer. Current issues of The Christian Science Sentinel, Journal and Herald as well as the Pulitzer prize-winning newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor, are always available – in print versions or online – to read and/or purchase. Our Reading Room librarian and staff are happy to assist you with anything you may be interested in inquiring about or studying.

In perusing the pages of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the reader's attention is engaged by original views on prayer, on creation, theology and medicine. You read that good alone is real, and divine Love supreme and redemptive. Transcendental? You may question. But the hundred pages of "Fruitage" at the end of the book record the healing of a great number of diseases of almost every type through Christian Science, without material means. Then you’ll note testimonies of healing published in current issues of Christian Science periodicals lying on the tables. A door is opening, leading you out into fresh pastures.
