Wednesday evening testimony meeting

To hear first hand accounts of healing and how Christian Science works in daily life, join us for an hour at our Wednesday evening testimony meeting in Los Angeles, CA. After selected readings from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, anyone in attendance is welcomed to share experiences, testimonies and remarks on Christian Science. A Christian Science testimony is at once a statement and evidence of faith and understanding, proved by works of healing.

Eyesight restored, broken limbs mended, a heart condition healed; healings of chronic and acute illnesses; protection from accidents and fire; alcoholism, drug addiction and other dependencies healed; loneliness, anger, depression overcome; gainful employment found; and, most importantly, a moral strengthening, — an awakening to the essential qualities of purity, honesty, humility, love — and a more genuine sense of gratitude: for life, for others, for God. These are just a sampling of the testimonies that have been shared in this church over the last few years.
 
Many times we may have opportunities of proving that through an understanding of Christian Science we can heal. With what interest we listen, for example, to a testimony that tells how a mother overcame her fear when her little child was ill, and how, her fear removed, she proved God's power to restore the child in health. Again, how realistic the experience seems when one tells how he was healed of the habit of smoking, or when another relates how he was able to apply the Principle of Christian Science to his business problems. These are some of the everyday practical things about which people who come to the midweek meeting want to hear; and they go away carrying the reasonable and impressive proofs they have heard into every channel of human endeavor, into every walk of human life.

On any given Wednesday evening meeting, many simple, plainly told, grateful testimonies may be heard by those who seek convincing proof that Christian Science is doing the wonderful things that it claims to do. The spoken word always has been potent to bring conviction, because it comes from living witnesses, seen, heard, and known to all present. Inspiring ideas and accounts of how those working in Christian Science are reversing fearful conditions, healing seemingly impossible situations and transforming lives are often related at these meetings.
